About The Role
The Senior Full Stack Software Engineer will play a vital role in supporting a Department of War mission partner's digital modernization initiatives. This position involves maintaining and enhancing government-owned applications built on the Microsoft technology stack, ensuring their reliable operation while facilitating their migration into a secure AWS GovCloud environment. The engineer will work across the entire technology stack, from SQL Server data layers to React-based front ends, within a DevSecOps pipeline. The role offers a largely remote work arrangement, with periodic onsite collaboration in the vicinity of San Diego, CA. Candidates must hold an active Secret security clearance and demonstrate a strong background in full-stack development, application modernization, and cloud migration to contribute effectively to critical government missions.
Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance
- Current DoD 8570/8140-compliant baseline certification (e.g., Security+)
- Eight or more years of experience in full-stack business systems web software engineering
- Five or more years within the past ten years in DevSecOps, including Azure DevOps Services, Azure DevOps Server, or TFS
- Five or more years within the past ten years of experience with:
- C# and .NET development (.NET Framework and .NET Core)
- JavaScript, React.js or Angular.js, HTML, CSS
- MS Visual Studio
- SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS
- Application modernization and migration strategies
- Willingness to work remotely with periodic onsite collaboration in San Diego, CA
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with government and contractor teams
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack web applications utilizing the Microsoft.NET stack, including C#, ASP.NET WebForms, MVC, and IIS
- Build and maintain responsive, user-friendly front-end interfaces using JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS
- Develop and integrate data solutions on Microsoft SQL Server, including SSIS packages and SSRS reports, and connect applications to data warehouses and marts
- Modernize legacy Microsoft applications by upgrading frameworks, operating systems, and adopting Agile practices
- Operate within a DevSecOps pipeline using Azure DevOps, managing source control, automated builds, and secure CI/CD workflows
- Support the re-engineering and migration of applications into a secure AWS GovCloud environment, ensuring compliance and security standards
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, managing work items through Azure DevOps boards and backlogs
- Contribute to sustainment and governance activities, including technical documentation, change management, incident response, and cybersecurity accreditation efforts
- Coordinate with government technical leads, platform, and security teams to deliver reliable, secure solutions aligned with mission requirements
