Pros: The engineering team at Concourse is fantastic. We have a lot of smart, dedicated people who genuinely care about the product and helping each other out. The company offers flexible work arrangements, which is a huge plus, and the location in Manhattan is hard to beat. It's a great place to learn and grow your technical skills in a fast-paced environment.
Cons: My main constructive feedback is around project scope and timeline estimation. Sometimes we get thrown ambitious goals that feel unrealistic from the outset, leading to crunch time and potential burnout. Better upfront planning and resource allocation would go a long way. The pay is competitive for the industry, but could perhaps be a bit higher given the cost of living in NYC.
Advice to Management: Consider implementing more robust project management methodologies and involving senior engineers earlier in the estimation process to ensure realistic timelines and better resource planning.

Concourse's remote onboarding was surprisingly smooth for me as a software engineer. They sent equipment ahead of time and had virtual introductions set up for the entire team, making me feel connected from day one, even though I'm in a different state.
