Pros: They trust you to get your work done. For remote software developers, that's a big deal. Regular syncs are helpful, not micromanaging, and I liked the hands-off approach on some of the smaller IT consulting projects. It allowed for a lot of autonomy.
Cons: Vision from the top can feel pretty unclear sometimes. As a Software Developer, I've seen project priorities shift too often. Communication about big company changes isn't always great for a mid-sized tech company, which leaves a lot of us guessing what's next.
Advice to Management: Work on clearer communication for company direction and project priorities. It would really help boost morale and focus for the engineering teams.
