Good Work-Life Balance in Higher Ed SaaS
Pros: The best part of Kuali is definitely the work-life balance and flexibility. Being a remote position from day one made transitioning easy. I appreciate the focus on collaboration within my team and the general supportive atmosphere. It's rewarding to contribute to products used in higher education.
Cons: While there are growth opportunities, career progression can sometimes feel a bit unclear or slow-moving. The compensation, while fair, might not be the absolute top tier compared to other tech roles in different industries. Sometimes, communication across departments could be more streamlined.
Advice to Management: Continue fostering flexibility and remote work options. Clearly outline career paths and provide more proactive professional development resources to help employees grow within Kuali.

Good team and impactful work, but company direction can be unclear
Pros: The best part of working at Kuali was the people. My immediate team was incredibly supportive and skilled, making daily work enjoyable. We were often working on features that directly helped universities operate more efficiently, which felt rewarding. The company offers remote work options, which was a huge plus for flexibility.
Cons: At times, strategic decisions from leadership felt a bit inconsistent, leading to some project pivots that were frustrating. Communication between departments could also be better to avoid duplication of effort or misunderstandings. The pay and benefits, while decent, didn't quite keep pace with market rates in the competitive tech industry.
Advice to Management: Focus on clearer, more consistent long-term strategy communication and invest in tools/processes that improve cross-departmental collaboration. Competitive compensation review is also needed.
