Pros: One of the best aspects here is the leadership. Managers and senior staff generally provide good guidance and genuinely care about our professional growth, encouraging us to explore new cloud technologies relevant to the oil and gas industry. The IT department, including my fellow Senior Cloud Administrators, fosters strong teamwork, which makes tackling complex projects much smoother. There’s a decent level of work flexibility when you need it, which is appreciated. The job security is also
Cons: While leadership is good, communication around major company-wide initiatives or significant IT changes could be more proactive and frequent to help us better prepare. Sometimes the workload, especially during peak project deployments or quarterly reporting periods in this energy industry, can be pretty intense, leading to some long days. Streamlining a few internal approval processes would also help us implement solutions more efficiently.
Advice to Management: I'd suggest continuing to invest in clear, transparent communication across departments and exploring ways to better distribute workloads during peak times to maintain work-life balance for key technical roles like Senior Cloud Administrators.
