Pros: Working as a Software Engineer at Rustici Software has been a positive experience. The company is a leader in the SCORM and xAPI space, which is interesting work. Being remote-first means I have great work flexibility and control over my schedule. The culture fosters a sense of trust and autonomy, and my colleagues are generally very supportive and collaborative. It's a stable company within the EdTech sector.
Cons: While the autonomy is appreciated, sometimes communication on broader project roadmaps can be a bit unclear, leading to minor re-work. Project approvals can occasionally feel a little slow. It would be helpful to have more structured career progression discussions, as growth often feels organic rather than planned.
