Pros: I really appreciate the team atmosphere at TRIUMPH in Macomb, MI. Everyone on the day shift is willing to help out, which makes tackling complex projects as a Mill Machinist much smoother. There's a decent focus on safety and continuous improvement. I've had chances to work on different machines and expand my skills in the manufacturing industry, which is a big plus for career development. The work is consistent, offering good job security in the current climate.
Cons: While the team is great, sometimes during peak production, the workload can get pretty intense, putting a bit of pressure on the day shift. Communication about clear pathways for internal career progression isn't always front and center, so you sometimes have to be proactive about seeking out those opportunities. Some approval processes for new tooling or methods could be a bit quicker to streamline operations.
Advice to Management: Keep investing in team-building and cross-training to maintain the strong company culture. Implement clearer internal development programs or mentorship opportunities for roles like Mill Machinist. Streamlining approval processes for new equipment or improvements would greatly benefit shop floor
