As our Lead Full Stack Developer, you’ll shape the future of StepChange’s digital experience—designing, building and delivering robust, scalable and high‑quality software solutions that make a real difference for our clients. As the technical authority for our NextJS web channels on AWS, you’ll own front‑end architecture decisions, create reusable components and drive cloud‑first engineering excellence.

Through close collaboration with engineering, product and business teams, you’ll lead the charge in delivering seamless, secure and impactful digital journeys.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Lead Full Stack Developer, you’ll be the driving force behind our front‑end architecture—setting standards in TypeScript, React and NextJS while ensuring performance, scalability and security across all solutions. You’ll stay hands‑on with AWS, building cloud‑native applications, reusable components and supporting legacy Angular and .NET systems when needed. You’ll champion modern engineering practices like CI/CD, GitHub Actions, automated testing and DevSecOps to deliver high‑quality, maintainable code.
You’ll lead Agile delivery, turning complex requirements into clean technical solutions and ensuring fast, reliable execution. As a player‑coach, you’ll mentor engineers, strengthen capability across key technologies and foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement. With a focus on operational excellence, you’ll enhance onboarding, improve monitoring and reliability, support incident resolution and drive productivity.
