Founded by Simon Mottram in London in 2004, Rapha makes the world’s finest cycling clothing. For 20 years, our products have redefined comfort, performance, and style for cyclists from absolute beginners through to WorldTour professionals.
The Rapha Cycling Club was founded in 2015 to bring cyclists together and push the limits of the sport, and today there are already more than 17,000 members worldwide. Our 18 Clubhouses across Europe, North America and Asia have become hubs for RCC members and local cyclists, offering a café space and stocking the latest products.
Rapha is proud to have worked with the sport's best athletes from its earliest days. First, as title sponsor to the British UCI Continental team Rapha-Condor from 2005 to 2012, then as clothing supplier to Team Sky from 2012 to 2016. Since then we have worked with women’s UCI WorldTour team CANYON//SRAM, EF Pro Cycling, and now the US Olympic cycling team as they prepare for a home games at LA 2028.

Pros: The flexible scheduling and understanding management really stood out, making my work-life balance manageable. I learned a lot about premium sports apparel and retail operations. My colleagues were incredibly supportive, creating a positive atmosphere. It's a stable company where you can genuinely connect with customers who share your passion for cycling and the brand's mission. I appreciated the opportunities to develop my customer service and sales skills.
Cons: Sometimes the career progression felt a bit slow, with limited formal pathways for advancing quickly within the retail team. There were also occasional busy periods, especially during product launches or sales, which could be quite demanding. Communication between different departments could sometimes be a challenge, needing better streamlining.
Advice to Management: Continue to invest in clear career development paths for retail staff. Improved cross-departmental communication would also benefit overall efficiency and employee understanding of broader company goals.

Pros: I really enjoyed the supportive team environment at Rapha. Everyone is genuinely passionate about cycling and the premium apparel brand, which makes working in the London Clubhouse really engaging. There are good opportunities to learn about the retail industry and develop customer service skills, especially dealing with a dedicated community. The company culture encourages an active lifestyle, and you feel part of something bigger.
Cons: While the work-life balance was generally fair, the workload as an Assistant Clubhouse Manager, particularly during peak seasons or large event days, could be quite demanding and extended hours were common. Sometimes communication between different departments felt a bit siloed, which could slow down certain operational approvals. Career progression within the retail sector can sometimes feel a bit slow without very clear pathways.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining inter-departmental communication and defining clearer career progression pathways, especially for long-term retail staff, to improve overall satisfaction and retention during busy periods.

Pros: Everyone here genuinely loves cycling. It's a real buzz, especially working in the cycling apparel industry. The London office has a good vibe within the marketing team. We get solid discounts too, which is a big plus.
Cons: Work-life balance? It's tough during busy sales periods. Expect longer hours. And it's more onsite than they let on; not much hybrid work for our team.
Advice to Management: Try to manage workloads better during busy periods. More flexible WFH options would really help employee morale and reduce burnout.
