Pros: The biggest pro for me is definitely the work flexibility. As a Gas Engineer, I often have different schedules and the management at this Scunthorpe-based heating and plumbing company is really understanding. They're good about letting you manage your own time to get jobs done, which means a decent work-life balance is achievable. The team is also quite supportive; everyone pitches in when needed, and there's always someone to bounce ideas off. It's a great environment for learning new aspects
Cons: While the overall communication is good, sometimes during peak seasons, things can get a bit hectic, and information flow isn't always as smooth as it could be for a busy gas engineer. Career growth opportunities, while present, aren't as formally structured as they might be in a much larger corporate heating and plumbing firm. It's more about taking initiative and learning on the job rather than a clear progression path with regular reviews.
Advice to Management: Keep up the excellent work on flexibility, it's a major draw. Maybe look into streamlining internal communication during the busiest periods to help reduce stress on the field team.
