Good Path for Product Managers in Creative Tech
Pros: I've really appreciated the solid career development as a Product Manager at Foundry. Working in the VFX software industry means constantly learning new tech and processes. Teams are supportive, fostering a strong company culture of collaboration in London. Great for skill growth.
Cons: Occasionally, internal communication could be more proactive, especially between different product development teams. While career growth is supported, a clearer framework for accelerated promotions for certain software roles would be beneficial for dedicated London-based professionals.
Advice to Management: Continue investing in clear career development frameworks and mentorship for product management and software engineering staff. Enhanced cross-departmental communication would also benefit the overall efficiency of VFX software development projects, strengthening our creative technology output.

Flexibility is Okay, Depends on Your Team
Pros: You get decent WFH options as a Software Engineer, which is nice. For basic engineering roles, it's pretty flexible. Some teams at this mid-sized tech company really get the hybrid model right, making it easier to manage your personal life.
Cons: True flexibility can be tough if you're on a project requiring close collaboration, especially in VFX software development. Meetings often get scheduled outside standard hours for remote from Seattle folks, which cuts into personal time. There's not always consistency in how flexible different managers are.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize flexibility policies across all teams. It would really help remote employees manage their schedules better and feel more valued. Consider time zone differences more for meeting scheduling.
