Applies experience and expert program and project management principles and processes to serve as the safety culture program manager. Develops innovative and effective decision processes and methods to execute the work activities within the project plans for the Safety Culture program. Identifies, defines, and organizes resources for large projects/programs/work activities. Acquires and allocates resources to accomplish activities within established schedules and budgetary requirements. Applies knowledge of project/ program management processes including quality, scope, time, cost, human resources, communications, risk, procurement and integration management.
The Program Manager collaborates with project managers to ensure that every project follows the strategic direction and meets the major milestones, and oversee the projects and project managers to accomplish the goals. Predicts, identifies and evaluates potential risks and develops alternate ways to either avoid or minimize impact.
Applies experience and expert technical knowledge, as well as an understanding of new technologies and methodologies, to perform critical tasks requiring the development of new concepts, systems, or innovative approaches. Applies positive change management methodologies, such as appreciative inquiry techniques and principals, and ensure that consistent and unified safety messaging is included in AVP and AVS. Identifies and resolves challenging problems or issues that often cross organizational boundaries and impact on the accomplishment of strategic objectives. Provides support to cross-organizational teams to plan, organize, coordinate, resolve issues, and schedule programs associated with the collection and analysis of data aimed at assessing individual and group values, attitudes, and competencies.
Manages and monitors the data collection using a variety of methods, including safety culture workshops, interviews, and survey development. This work is critical to maintaining the safety of the National Airspace System (NAS). Applies strategic communication practices to supports teams in the analysis and evaluation of current practices that promote safety culture to deliver a comprehensive, phased communication plan. Analyzes alternative approaches in the process of advising management concerning major aspects of technical, operational, and administrative program requirements to ensure understanding and compliance with appropriate policies, regulations and strategic goals.
Contacts are internal and external. Collaborates with national labor organizations to learn and share industry best practices to successfully modify and develop safety promotion material. Often represents the major subdivision and LOB/SO as a principal point of contact to provide advice and guidance on the applications of policies and procedures. Formulates and recommends to senior management positions on major projects/ policies/issues. Prepares, reviews, and recommends approvals of major reports on projects, programs and other work activities for internal and external distribution. Develops briefings to convey strategic vision and/or organizational policies to internal and external audiences.

Leads discussions and/or training sessions of new machine learning techniques and neural network architectures. These interactions will focus on potential applications of machine learning to the aviation domain.
