The Creative Industries School at Kingston College are now seeking a Deputy Head of School – Media, Music & Digital.

As Deputy Head of School, you will combine leadership and management of several curriculum areas with being a member of the management team within the School and a wider operational role for the College. You will be responsible for the effective management of Media, Music & Digital delivery, including oversight of recruitment, enrolment, retention, attendance, achievement and liaise with the Head of School linked to budgeting, performance, and partnership management.

You will provide innovative strategic leadership, operational delivery and direction to the planning and development of provision of a high standard that meets the needs of various funding bodies. The Deputy Head of School will ensure that the curriculum is flexible, agile and responsive to learners’ needs by being well informed of local and regional skills, employment priorities and national policies. You will further ensure that monitoring of information on standards and the quality of provision is reviewed and acted upon to eliminate the risk of non-compliance with statutory timescales and requirements.

We’d like our Deputy Head of School to hold relevant professional qualifications, including a degree or equivalent professional qualification in an area relevant to the work of this Section – Media, Music & Digital. You’ll have a track record of successfully leading and managing a large team of staff (teachers, technicians and other support staff) and have excellent appraisal and training skills, coupled with clear experience of dealing effectively with issues through relevant HR processes.

You will also have excellent knowledge of Government policy and a strong awareness of future developments that influence the curriculum, in particular the needs of the local and regional economy. You should have excellent understanding of the work of Ofsted, OfS and other similar regulators, including awarding bodies, and have a strong record of identifying interventions for improvements and executing these effectively.

Subject to a cost of living review from 1 August, the successful candidate will be eligible for any subsequent increase in salary.

JOB DESCRIPTION

THIS IS A 2-YEARS RENEWABLE / CONVERTIBLE CONTRACT ROLE.

The Marketing Communication Senior/ Executive is responsible for supporting the development and execution of communication initiatives, with a focus on media relations and social media, as well as public engagement.

The candidate will be a key member in the Marketing Communication and Public Engagement team of Defence Collective Singapore (DCS); as a brand custodian of Singapore Discovery Centre, Singapore Navy Museum and upcoming brands to be subsumed under the DCS umbrella.

Responsibilities:

• This role will work closely with the Assistant Director to drive media and influencer engagement and manage social media platforms with engaging content.
• Media Relations
• formulate and execute communication strategies and plans in support of DCS’ communication objectives: to strengthen brand/public image and the alignment to organisational mission of championing the Singapore and defence story.
• Build and maintain good relations with the media from both traditional and social media platforms and manage the preparation of media materials.
• Social Media - Strategise data-driven communication, manage social media channels for the brands under DCS. That includes content creation, follower engagement and data analytics to measure effectiveness.
• Build and execute social media strategies, generate and publish daily content, optimise DCS brand pages on various platforms, moderate user-generated content and analyse social data.
• Public Programming - To develop engaging and impactful public programmes for young families/youth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, or a related field.
• Min 3-5 years of experience in marketing communication, with a focus on media relations and social media.
• Good command of the English language. Proficiency in a second language will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms, and competent in editing photographs and short-form videos.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.

DUTIES
