The Role
We are is seeking an experienced Accounting and Compliance Analyst to join our Legal & Compliance team. In this critical role, you will blend your expertise in anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) protocols with a deep understanding of financial reporting and compliance within the Financial Services sector. You will be instrumental in ensuring our client onboarding processes, due diligence, and financial reporting meet all regulatory requirements and internal standards. Your work will be pivotal in mitigating financial crime risks and contributing to effective financial governance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Utilise your accounting and financial expertise to review client financial statements and overall status during the onboarding process, identifying potential risks and ensuring accuracy.
• Collect, analyse, and verify complex client documentation, including financial statements and corporate structures, to ensure compliance with AML regulations and internal policies.
• Conduct risk assessments and classify clients based on their risk profiles, considering their financial activities and market positioning.
• Maintain detailed records of due diligence reviews and findings for regulatory and audit purposes.
• Assist in the development and review of budgetary and accounting policies relevant to AML/KYC processes and investment banking operations.
• Prepare comprehensive financial and compliance reports.
• Conduct financial investigations and audits related to AML/KYC matters, including assessments of capital financing, potential fraud, and insolvency issues.
• Analyse operating costs and income related to compliance activities, ensuring efficient management.
• Stay updated on changes in AML/KYC regulations, financial reporting standards, and investment banking guidelines to ensure compliance procedures are current.
• Collaborate with internal auditors and external regulators during audits and examinations to ensure comprehensive compliance.
About You
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, auditing, and compliance, preferably within the Financial Services sector.
• Exceptional analytical and investigative skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency in AML/KYC software, financial reporting tools, and screening systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with clients and internal stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• High ethical standards and integrity.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
