You lead a team that develops the mid to long-term direction and strategy for National Education (NE) and Total Defence (TD).
What You Will Be Working On
Formulate and review National Education frameworks and initiatives to strengthen societal resilience
Explore innovative engagement approaches for National Education and Total Defence
Work with partners across government and the community to enhance whole-of-society commitment to defence
Support Nexus' international engagements to exchange perspectives and establish partnerships
Lead the team to develop and execute strategic plans and capability development efforts to ensure Nexus is well-positioned to achieve its strategic outcomes
Challenge(s)
Keeping up-to-date with current affairs and understanding how issues related to National Education and Total Defence impact Nexus' work
Balancing Nexus' interests with that of partners while developing effective strategies that can help achieve strategic outcomes
What We Are Looking For
Education in Communication Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field
At least 6 years of relevant experience in policy-making or public communications, including at least 2 years in leading a team to deliver organisational strategic outcomes
Experience in strategic planning and capability development is advantageous
Strong interest in and understanding of national issues and current affairs
Strong command of clear written and spoken English
Good networking skills, critical thinking abilities, and adaptability
