[What the role is]
This is a 2-year contract position as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, Mathematics & Infocomm Technology in the School of Humanities & Interdisciplinary studies.
[What you will be working on]
- Develop and deliver curriculum and assessments for full‑time Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) students in Mathematics
- Develop and deliver full‑time and/or part‑time PET and CET IT‑related modules, including face‑to‑face and/or online courses
- Able to teach at least one evening or weekends in the week
- Design, administer, and mark assessments, including continuous assessments and examinations
- Counsel and mentor students to support their learning and personal development, including education and career guidance
- Lead or participate in academic research, data analysis, implementation initiatives, and/or poly‑wide projects
- Undertake academic‑related administration, committee work, outreach activities, and ad‑hoc projects that support the School’s mission
- Lead or support educational and enrichment programmes, including study trips where applicable
[What we are looking for]
- A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Data Science, or a related discipline
- Preferably at least 3 years of relevant industry experience in Mathematics and/or a related field
- Demonstrated ability and interest to plan, develop, and teach Mathematics and digital skills‑related modules
- Strong interest in curriculum development and applied teaching approaches
- A nurturing mindset with passion for working with young adults and adult learners
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good planning, organising, writing, and multi‑tasking skills
- Agile, adaptable, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team‑based environment
