What The Role Is
You lead a team responsible for the formulation and review of Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) disciplinary and inquiry policies. You also oversee the operations of the Court Martial Centre, which supports the Subordinate Military Court and Military Court of Appeal, as well as serve as the Registrar of both courts.
What You Will Be Working On
- Lead the formulation, review and implementation of disciplinary and inquiry policies for MINDEF and the SAF
- Ensure policies remain current, effective and aligned with organisational objectives
- Oversee the operations of the Court Martial Centre, ensuring smooth and efficient support to the Subordinate Military Court and Military Court of Appeal
- Serve as the Registrar of the Subordinate Military Court and Military Court of Appeal
- Analyse policy gaps and emerging issues to develop evidence-based recommendations that shape behaviour and promote a safe and inclusive workplace
- Engage and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders, including legal, HR and operational counterparts
Challenge(s) - Keeping abreast of shifts in the national crime landscape and evolving societal norms
- Balancing the perspectives of multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective and well-rounded policymaking
- Establishing robust monitoring mechanisms to drive timely case management without compromising thoroughness or fairness
What We Are Looking For
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in policy formulation, disciplinary- or inquiry-related work, or a related field is preferred
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
