Okay work-life, but project demands vary
Pros: I've had some good periods with actual 40-hour weeks. The hybrid model in the Houston office helps, letting me WFH a couple days which is a big plus for personal stuff.
Cons: When a big EPC project kicks off, forget work-life balance. As a Project Engineer, you're expected to put in long hours, often 50-60+ without much overtime compensation.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into better resource allocation on projects. It's tough on morale when Project Engineers are constantly overworked on critical phases.

Work-life balance varies a lot at Worley
Pros: The hybrid work model is a solid perk. It makes it easier to manage personal stuff since you're not always commuting. When projects aren't in crunch time, hitting 40-hour weeks is totally doable here. There's good flexibility if you need to schedule appointments.
Cons: But when big oil and gas project deadlines hit, expect to work long hours. It's not uncommon to see 50-60 hour weeks for weeks at a time. This really impacts your personal life and can be super draining. It's tough because you can't always predict these periods.
Advice to Management: Try to manage project timelines better to avoid extreme crunch periods. More consistent workloads would really help employee morale and prevent burnout for engineering teams.

Work-Life Balance is a Mixed Bag Here
Pros: They do offer a hybrid model which is a big plus, especially for those of us in the Houston office. You can usually manage your 40-hour weeks if you're efficient. There are slower periods too, which helps out.
Cons: When an engineering consulting project hits crunch time, be ready for long hours. It's not uncommon to work 50-60 hour weeks for a month or two. Management expects you to deliver, even if it means sacrificing personal time.
Advice to Management: Try to implement stricter policies on overtime for project teams. Recognize that consistently long hours lead to burnout in the engineering consulting industry.
