Pros: As a Junior Software Engineer, I got to work on some decent new tech projects. The team was pretty collaborative, and I definitely picked up solid coding skills while I was here. It's a stable mid-sized tech firm, which is nice.
Cons: It's really tough to see clear career growth paths, especially for software development roles. Promotions are rare, and it feels like there aren't many opportunities to move up beyond your initial position. This was a big con for me working hybrid from Austin, TX.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to invest more in creating clear promotion tracks for employees. It feels like people get stuck in their roles, especially in software development. Define what it takes to get to the next level.
