Work-life balance is decent but watch out for crunch
Pros: They do offer decent remote work options, which is a huge plus for someone in a tech role like mine. You generally aren't expected to work crazy long hours on a day-to-day basis, especially when things are calm.
Cons: However, when big project deadlines hit, expect some late nights and weekend work. It's tough to consistently maintain good work-life balance in the Austin, TX office during these periods. The workload for software engineers can become unpredictable.
Advice to Management: Try to plan projects with more realistic timelines to avoid last-minute crunch. Support managers in protecting their teams' evenings and weekends.

Work-Life Balance is Okay for Software Engineers
Pros: As a Software Engineer here, the hybrid work model is pretty good. You get some flexibility to work remote a couple days a week. It helps manage personal appointments without using PTO. Project deadlines are usually realistic too.
Cons: But sometimes the workload for tech roles can get pretty heavy, especially during crunch times. It's hard to truly unplug after hours when you're on a critical project. There's an expectation of being available sometimes.
Advice to Management: Management should really encourage teams to log off completely after work hours, especially during non-critical phases. More focus on preventing burnout for individual contributors would be good for overall morale.

Hybrid Model is Okay, Needs Some Tweaks
Pros: The hybrid work setup at Oneness Holdings is good in theory. As a Software Developer, I like that I'm not in the Dallas office every single day. It helps a lot with my personal errands, especially in the financial services industry where office hours can be long.
Cons: True flexibility isn't really there, though. We have set days we *have* to be in, even when there's no real reason to. It feels more like a corporate environment trying to do hybrid than actually being flexible. Sometimes I'd prefer to just WFH.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more autonomy on hybrid days or allowing teams to decide their in-office schedule. True flexibility would make a big difference for us developers.
