Decent for Marketing, But Be Prepared
Pros: The team in the corporate environment is generally supportive. You get to work with an iconic luxury beauty brand, which is cool. There's some flexibility for appointments, which is a lifesaver sometimes.
Cons: Work-life balance can be tough, especially around product launches. Expect longer hours during peak times, even for marketing roles. It feels like you're always on, even after leaving the New York City office.
Advice to Management: Management should really try to set clearer boundaries for after-hours work. It'd help a lot with burnout, especially for those in busy roles like marketing. More consistent remote work options could help too.

Decent place, but work-life balance is tough
Pros: Working as a retail sales associate in the NYC flagship boutique is cool. You get to interact with clients interested in luxury beauty products. The team is pretty solid, good vibes among my colleagues.
Cons: Work-life balance here isn't great, especially during holiday rushes. Expect long on-site hours and weekend shifts regularly. It's hard to make plans outside of work when your schedule changes so much.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into better scheduling for retail staff. More flexible shifts or more consistent hours would help a lot with burnout, especially for those of us on the floor all day.

Work-Life Balance is Okay for Marketing
Pros: As a Marketing Coordinator, my typical week was around 40-45 hours. They have a decent hybrid work model in the New York, NY office, which helps a lot with personal appointments. The benefits for time off are pretty solid in the luxury beauty industry.
Cons: Product launch seasons in the luxury beauty industry can be intense, leading to longer hours. It's not always easy to truly disconnect, especially if you're working on global campaigns. Some corporate marketing roles definitely felt more pressured.
Advice to Management: Try to manage workloads better during peak seasons so marketing teams aren't consistently overwhelmed. More clearly define boundaries for after-hours communication for all employees.

Decent Luxury Retail Job, But Some Uncertainty
Pros: It's an established brand in the luxury beauty industry, so there's a certain prestige. For onsite retail roles, the base pay was decent and I always had regular, predictable hours which is good for planning.
Cons: Job security isn't always great, especially with sales targets constantly changing. Store performance directly impacted hours sometimes, which made me nervous. There aren't many clear paths for career growth as a Retail Sales Associate either.
Advice to Management: Management should focus more on clear communication about store performance and what that means for employees. Creating more defined career progression for frontline retail roles would really help with employee retention and overall job satisfaction.

Solid luxury brand, but culture needs work
Pros: It's a great name for your resume, especially in luxury beauty. You learn so much about high-end skincare and fragrance marketing. My team in the New York office was supportive, which helped.
Cons: The company culture is pretty old-school and super formal. It's tough for a global corporate brand to adapt quickly. Not much work flexibility either, it's mostly onsite for my Marketing Coordinator role.
Advice to Management: Focus on modernizing the company culture and promoting more work flexibility. Create clearer career paths for employees in marketing and sales roles.
