Okay if you make your own growth plan.
Pros: There are tons of internal training resources available for any financial services industry professional. If you're proactive, you can connect with mentors and learn new skills in the London office. Good for gaining broad exposure to market data.
Cons: Career progression isn't always clear-cut; it feels like you're stuck in the same role for a while. Formal promotion paths for a Data Analyst can be really slow, and there's not much proactive guidance from management.
Advice to Management: Provide clearer career frameworks and more active mentorship programs, especially for junior and mid-level roles. Help people see a path forward.

Okay flexibility, but room for improvement
Pros: The hybrid model is decent for the London office. Two days a week in the office isn't too bad, especially for a corporate environment. It's nice to see colleagues sometimes. They provide good equipment for WFH.
Cons: The hybrid policy isn't super flexible; it's a fixed 3 days remote, 2 days onsite. Can't really shift it around if you have appointments. For Software Engineer roles, I feel like more remote options could be offered. It feels a bit old-school for a tech company in financial services.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more flexibility within the hybrid model, maybe allowing teams to decide their in-office days or having more fully remote options for certain roles.

Culture needs work, but tech is solid.
Pros: As a Software Engineer, I really liked the challenging projects. You get to work with some pretty advanced financial data processing in a big tech corporate environment. The hybrid work model was also a decent perk.
Cons: The company culture here can feel a bit old-school and bureaucratic. It's tough to get new ideas through, and there's not much innovation from the top. Team morale in our New York City office often felt low.

Solid Base Pay, But Benefits Need a Look
Pros: As a Software Engineer in the London office, the base salary is quite competitive for the financial services industry. They've also got a pretty decent pension scheme, which is a nice perk for a big corporate company like LSEG.
Cons: The annual bonus structure can be a bit opaque and sometimes feels low for the effort. Don't expect huge raises every year either; it's more incremental. Healthcare benefits could really be better, especially compared to some other tech employers in the city.
Advice to Management: Review total compensation packages for all roles, especially annual bonuses for mid-level positions. Also, consider enhancing healthcare benefits to align with industry leaders.

Leadership's okay, but needs stronger vision
Pros: My immediate team lead is really supportive, which helps a lot. There's a lot of opportunity to learn new things in the financial markets industry. The hybrid work model in the New York office is also a plus for flexibility.
Cons: Senior leadership can feel a bit out of touch with day-to-day engineering challenges. It's tough to see a clear, consistent product vision sometimes. Decision-making can be slow for big strategic changes.
Advice to Management: Try to connect more with individual contributors. Give clearer, long-term direction, especially for engineering teams. Focus on faster execution for key initiatives.

Decent place for financial tech, but watch hours
Pros: The hybrid model is great; I can work from home a few days a week, which really helps with commuting in London. For a big tech company in financial markets, the pay and benefits are quite competitive. You get to work with some really smart people on interesting data analytics projects.
Cons: Work-life balance here is tough sometimes, especially when there are tight deadlines for new trading technology releases. It's not uncommon to put in 50+ hour weeks, and some teams have a strong 'always on' culture. There's also a bit of bureaucracy that can slow things down.
Advice to Management: Try to enforce healthier working hours across all teams, not just specific departments. Better project planning could reduce crunch times for financial data roles.

Okay culture for a big corporate company
Pros: Working as a Data Analyst, I've had good exposure to financial markets data. People in my immediate team are generally supportive and there's a decent sense of camaraderie. The London office is pretty modern too, which is nice.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit fragmented and slow to adapt. It's a very corporate environment, so decision-making takes forever. Sometimes it feels like different departments don't really talk much.
Advice to Management: Try to break down departmental silos and empower teams more. Foster quicker decision-making across the board.

Decent pay, but benefits could improve.
Pros: The base salary is pretty solid for a Software Engineer in the London market, especially for financial data roles. I've always felt my paycheck was decent and arrived on time. The pension contribution is also quite generous.
Cons: Bonus structure isn't very transparent, and it's often a bit low. Healthcare benefits aren't as comprehensive as I've seen elsewhere, and there's not much in terms of unique perks. Raises also feel pretty standard, not truly merit-based.
Advice to Management: Review the bonus structure and make it clearer for employees. Consider enhancing healthcare packages to be more competitive, especially for roles like Software Engineer.

Leadership needs more focus on us
Pros: There's solid job security as a big corporate place. The benefits package is okay for a financial data company. You definitely learn a lot about the industry.
Cons: Management can feel really disconnected from the daily work of software engineers. Decisions from the top don't always make sense for the teams in the New York City office. There's just not enough transparency from senior leaders.
Advice to Management: Listen more to the people actually building the trading platforms. Improve communication from senior leadership down to the individual contributors.

Okay for WLB, depends on your team
Pros: The hybrid work model is a huge plus, letting me balance office days with remote work from home. Most managers in the London office respect your hours. It's decent for flexibility.
Cons: Project deadlines can be brutal, especially in financial technology. You often work late trying to hit targets. It definitely impacts my personal time, sometimes for weeks.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize work expectations across different teams and projects. Support managers more in protecting their team's time from overzealous project demands.
