Decent flexibility for an established tech company
Pros: The hybrid work model is a huge plus. We can choose our days in the Windsor, CT office, which helps avoid traffic. As a Senior Software Engineer, I appreciate not being tethered to my desk 24/7.
Cons: Full remote options are rare. There's pressure to come in even when it's not strictly necessary. Sometimes teams struggle to coordinate with hybrid schedules.
Advice to Management: Trust employees more with remote work. Improve coordination tools for hybrid teams.

Balancing Remote Work at a Big FinTech Firm
Pros: The remote option for Software Engineer roles is a big plus. It's nice not commuting, which helps a bit with initial work-life balance. We get decent benefits too, for a large corporate environment.
Cons: But the workload can get really heavy. Sometimes I'm online way past 5 PM, especially during client deadlines in financial technology. It's hard to disconnect completely when WFH and the demands keep coming.
Advice to Management: Try to enforce better boundaries around working hours, especially for remote teams. More headcount could ease the pressure on existing Software Engineers.

Okay Work-Life, But Project Dependent in FinTech
Pros: There's decent WFH flexibility for many Software Engineer roles, which helps a lot. I liked being able to manage my own time as long as project deadlines were met. It's a big corporate environment, so there's solid job security.
Cons: Work-life balance can tank during critical phases, especially with tight deadlines for new fintech solutions. Expect some long weeks, sometimes over 50 hours, particularly if you're working from the Windsor, CT office on a big project. There's a push for responsiveness, even after hours, which can cut into personal time.
Advice to Management: Focus on more realistic project timelines to prevent burnout. Support team leads in protecting their team's time better, especially for financial services roles.
