Decent for recruitment, but commission-driven
Pros: Job security as a Senior Recruitment Consultant here is pretty decent, especially if you're consistently hitting targets. There's good stability in the London office if you prove your value, which is nice in the often volatile recruitment industry. They don't typically lay off high performers.
Cons: But if you're not performing, job security can feel really low. It's a very commission-driven role, so underperformance in recruitment roles can quickly put you on a performance improvement plan. The corporate environment can be tough if you're not constantly closing deals.
Advice to Management: Maybe look at more base salary stability for experienced consultants to reduce the pressure slightly, especially during market downturns. It would help with retention.

Hard Work, Decent Pay for Recruiters
Pros: The earning potential is pretty good with their commission model. I really appreciated the hybrid work arrangement, especially WFH Fridays. It's a big name, so you get good exposure in the recruitment industry for financial services roles.
Cons: Work-life balance? It's tough as a recruitment consultant here. You're always chasing targets, which means late nights are common, and the pressure is constant. It's definitely not a 9-to-5 gig in the Sydney office.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate workload expectations for recruitment consultants to prevent burnout. More focus on sustainable targets could improve overall staff well-being.

Okay for a start, but growth can slow
Pros: Good initial training for new Recruitment Consultants joining the London office, especially if you're new to the staffing solutions world. You get exposure to a wide range of clients and industries, which is great for building your network quickly. If you hit your targets, you can move up decent enough early on.
Cons: Career growth here can definitely stagnate after the first couple of promotions. It feels like there aren't enough senior positions, so you're often competing fiercely for limited spots, even with solid performance. The path to Director level isn't very clear for many.
Advice to Management: Management should create more clear, transparent pathways for career progression beyond the initial consultant levels. It'd help keep good people around if they saw a long-term future here.
