Hybrid Model is Decent, But Onsite Still Heavy
Pros: As a Process Engineer in the Fremont office, the hybrid model is decent. I get to work from home a couple days a week, which helps avoid some of the Bay Area traffic. The pay and benefits are also pretty good for engineering roles.
Cons: Even with the hybrid setup, there are often heavy onsite expectations, especially for those in wafer processing. It's tough when you're constantly pulled into the fab for equipment issues. This makes true work-life balance and flexibility a real challenge here.
Advice to Management: Try to be more consistent with work from home policies for process engineering. Give teams more autonomy on onsite presence when it doesn't directly impact fab operations.

Work-life balance is decent, but can be tough
Pros: The hybrid model is a solid perk; I get to work remotely 2-3 days a week from the Fremont campus, which is awesome. As a Process Engineer, my direct team usually respects my time, so most days aren't too bad. There's good overall job security at this big tech company.
Cons: The biggest struggle is during crunch times in semiconductor equipment development; hours can get really long. Being on-call for urgent fab operations or critical wafer fabrication issues totally messes with your personal life. It's tough to consistently maintain a 40-hour work week.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage workloads for Process Engineers, especially with on-call duties for fab operations. More consistent staffing could help prevent burnout and improve work-life balance across teams.
