Decent Work-Life, But Can Be Tough for Engineers
Pros: The Parsippany, NJ office environment is generally pretty chill during normal weeks. They offer a hybrid model which is a huge plus, letting you work from home a few days. My team was pretty understanding about personal appointments, which helped a lot.
Cons: You can get slammed with urgent issues, especially if you're dealing with plant operations. There's pressure to hit deadlines, and it's not uncommon to put in extra hours. Sometimes, vacation approvals feel a bit slow too.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project workloads for Process Engineer roles. Also, speed up vacation request approvals, it'd really help morale.

Decent Culture, But Big Company Hurdles
Pros: I've learned a ton about specialty chemicals here as a Process Engineer. My team in the Parsippany office was really supportive and helpful. There's a decent sense of community within smaller groups.
Cons: The overall big corporate culture can feel pretty slow-moving. Decision-making for materials science projects often takes too long. It's not a place for quick changes or agile innovation.
Advice to Management: Try to empower teams more and streamline approval processes. Encourage more cross-departmental collaboration to break down silos in this global chemical company.

Predictable onsite work at a big corporate
Pros: For a Process Engineer, the work-life balance is pretty steady. I usually get out on time, which is a big plus for my personal life. At this Mobile, Alabama specialty chemicals plant, your schedule is consistent.
Cons: However, actual work flexibility is almost non-existent for onsite roles. There are hardly any hybrid options for engineering staff. If you need remote work or last-minute schedule changes, it's a real struggle here.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more flexible work arrangements, even for some onsite engineering roles. It would really help with retention and attracting new talent.
