Culture shifted, not like it used to be
Pros: When I first joined Evernote, the startup energy was really good. People in the Redwood City office were super collaborative, which was great for product development. We were building a solid note-taking app.
Cons: The company culture has really shifted, though. It doesn't feel like the mid-sized tech company it used to be; it's more corporate now. Sometimes, team leads seem overwhelmed, and that affects team morale a lot.
Advice to Management: Try to bring back some of the old Evernote startup spirit. Support your managers better so they can support their teams.

Decent Benefits, Pay Could Be Better
Pros: The health benefits package is pretty good, especially for a tech company in Silicon Valley. They offered solid 401k matching too, which helps. As a Product Manager, I appreciated the work flexibility here.
Cons: Salary for my Product Manager role felt below market rates compared to other big tech companies. Annual raises weren't huge, so compensation growth was slow. The overall pay structure could use a review.
Advice to Management: Management should really look at market rate compensation for roles, especially in key areas like product development and software engineering. Better pay will help attract and retain talent.

Stability took a real hit after the acquisition.
Pros: Before the Bending Spoons acquisition, it was a solid place. I enjoyed working on a popular productivity software product. The remote work setup was pretty good for us engineers.
Cons: Job security definitely wasn't there after the acquisition. The layoffs were brutal, especially for many US-based tech company employees. It felt like a rug was pulled out from under us.
Advice to Management: More transparency and support for employees during major company shifts like acquisitions is crucial. Don't leave people guessing.
