Okay place to work, but culture is tough
Pros: ANZ is a big corporate bank, so job security is pretty solid. They've got a decent hybrid work model for Senior Business Analysts in the Melbourne office, which I appreciated.
Cons: The company culture can be really bureaucratic and slow-moving. It's tough to get new ideas off the ground, and there's a lot of old-school thinking in certain departments for banking operations.
Advice to Management: Work on fostering more innovation and empower teams to make decisions faster. Try to break down some of the internal silos that slow things down.

Solid Benefits, But Pay Needs Review
Pros: The benefits package at ANZ is pretty comprehensive. Things like health insurance are solid, and the superannuation contributions are definitely above average for financial services. We also get some decent discounts on banking products.
Cons: Honestly, the base salary for a Data Analyst isn't amazing here, especially in the Melbourne office. I feel like I could earn more elsewhere for similar responsibilities. Raises aren't huge year-over-year either.
Advice to Management: Review the salary bands for individual contributor roles like Data Analyst. You're losing good talent because compensation isn't competitive enough, especially in key tech areas.

Hybrid Work is Decent for Most ANZ Roles
Pros: As a Customer Service Officer in the Melbourne office, I appreciated the hybrid work setup. We got a few WFH days a week, which really helped with my personal life. It's a solid perk for a big corporate bank like ANZ in the financial services industry.
Cons: But sometimes the flexibility depends heavily on your team manager, which can be tough. It's not always consistent across all departments. There's also pressure to be onsite more often for certain projects, even for banking roles that could easily be remote.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize the hybrid work policy more across all teams. It would help if flexibility wasn't so manager-dependent, especially for back-office and customer service roles. Consistency makes a big difference for employee morale.
