Leadership is a mixed bag here
Pros: My direct manager was super supportive, which made a huge difference on projects. You get good exposure to a lot of different financial services tech clients. Work-life balance as an IT Consultant was often reasonable, not too many crazy hours.
Cons: Upper leadership at CLPS Global often feels really distant from the day-to-day. There's not always clear direction from the top, which can cause project delays. Career growth discussions with management could be more frequent and transparent.
Advice to Management: Try to bridge the gap between senior leadership and project teams. More frequent, direct communication from the top would help everyone understand the vision. Also, invest more in developing clear career paths for IT consultants.

Hybrid work is okay, but could be better
Pros: You get some hybrid work options, which is a plus for IT consulting roles. I could work from home a couple of days a week, and that really helped with the tough NYC commute. It's not fully remote, but it's a start.
Cons: True work flexibility for a Software Engineer here is pretty limited beyond the hybrid model. Last-minute office requests happen a lot, and changing project deadlines make planning tough. It's hard to really set your own schedule.
Advice to Management: Try to be more consistent with hybrid policies and respect employee schedules. Less last-minute onsite requests would help a lot with overall morale for those in IT consulting.

Okay balance, but often quite demanding.
Pros: It's nice that they offer a hybrid model. That flexibility helps sometimes. Our team is usually pretty good about helping out, which is key in IT consulting when projects get intense. You can have decent stretches of a 40-hour work week.
Cons: However, deadlines often mean long hours, sometimes 50-60+ hours a week for a Software Engineer. It's tough to really disconnect, especially when you're working from the New York office during peak times. The 'on-call' nature of the financial services technology projects can be draining.
Advice to Management: Managers need to set clearer expectations for project timelines and availability. Better resource planning could help prevent burnout for technical staff. Let's really commit to that hybrid model, not just in name.
