Hybrid Model is Decent, but Can Be Better
Pros: I like the hybrid work arrangement. We get two WFH days a week for most teams, which is solid for a big financial services company in Singapore. It helps avoid the daily commute to the central business district sometimes.
Cons: The flexibility really depends on your specific team and role. As a Market Operations Associate, there are still core hours you have to stick to for live trading. Sometimes it feels like we're still pretty tied to the Singapore office, and fully remote isn't an option.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize flexibility policies across all operational teams where possible. Consider more flexible core hours, especially for roles not directly on the trading floor.

Hybrid model is there, but could be better
Pros: The hybrid model is a solid start; we can do a few days WFH. This helps with the commute to the Singapore office, which is a plus. Some teams are pretty understanding about personal appointments.
Cons: True work flexibility isn't really consistent across all departments for Analyst roles. It often depends heavily on your manager, which creates a bit of an uneven playing field. You still feel pressure to be onsite for many things.
Advice to Management: Standardize the hybrid model and work from home policies across all teams, especially for junior roles in financial markets. Managers need better training on promoting genuine flexibility without bias.

Solid, but typical corporate culture here
Pros: The work environment is really professional. You're right in the thick of the financial services industry, which can be exciting. People in the Singapore office are generally committed to their work, so teamwork is decent.
Cons: Things can move pretty slowly; there's a lot of bureaucracy. As a Market Analyst, I sometimes found it tough to push for innovative ideas. It's definitely a large corporate, not a place for fast-paced startup energy.
Advice to Management: Try to encourage more agility and faster decision-making, especially for teams working on market intelligence. It would help retain talent looking for more dynamic roles in this industry.

Culture is stable but a bit slow
Pros: It's a very stable place to work, especially good for those seeking job security in financial markets. The Singapore office has a professional vibe. You get decent benefits and a pretty standard 40-hour work week.
Cons: The corporate culture feels pretty traditional. Innovation isn't really pushed, and new ideas can take forever to get traction. For Market Analyst roles, it can feel a bit rigid and not very dynamic.
Advice to Management: Try to encourage more risk-taking and faster decision-making. Modernize the approach to project management to keep up with industry changes.

Stagnant Career Growth for Junior Roles
Pros: As a Junior Quantitative Analyst, I've gotten solid exposure to different aspects of financial markets, which is good for learning. The initial training program for new hires is decent, and you pick up a lot if you're proactive. It's a pretty stable corporate environment here in Singapore.
Cons: Honestly, career growth feels pretty stagnant after a year or two. There's not much clear internal mobility for quant roles, so it's tough to move up without leaving. It feels like you hit a ceiling quickly, and you can't really see a path to senior positions.
Advice to Management: Improve structured career paths and make internal mobility more transparent for junior staff. It'd help retain talent if we could see a clearer path forward.

Solid Base Pay, But Benefits Could Improve
Pros: As an Analyst here, the base salary is pretty competitive for the financial industry in Singapore. I've always felt my monthly take-home was solid. They do offer good insurance, which is a plus for onsite employees.
Cons: The bonus structure isn't always clear, and it feels like raises are hard to come by. Don't expect huge annual jumps in your pay band. Some of the benefits like paternity leave or wellness programs feel a bit behind other big corporates.
Advice to Management: Rethink the annual bonus transparency and invest more in modern employee benefits. Competitive pay isn't just about base salary anymore; it's the whole package.
