Stable place for engineers in Singapore.
Pros: The job security here is really good, especially as a Software Engineer working on long-term defense projects. You feel pretty safe with the company's backing as a large corporate. Pay and benefits are decent for the Singapore market too.
Cons: It's a big, slow corporate environment, so things move really gradually. There isn't much room for innovation or fast career growth in some areas. Work-life balance can get a bit lopsided during crunch times, especially for onsite work.
Advice to Management: Try to speed up decision-making processes and empower teams more. Encourage innovation and create clearer paths for career progression for engineering roles.

Solid job security, but things move slow
Pros: Job security here is really high, especially for a large corporate. You don't often hear about big layoffs like in other tech companies, which is a huge plus. The benefits package is solid too, good medical coverage and decent leave for onsite staff in Singapore.
Cons: Career growth can feel slow for a Software Engineer. Projects move at a snail's pace sometimes, and there's a lot of red tape. It's not the place if you want to constantly push new technologies or move up super fast.
Advice to Management: Try to speed up project approvals and encourage more innovation. Empower teams to take more initiative without so much bureaucracy, especially for our defense technology projects.

Work-life balance is okay, but it can be a grind.
Pros: I've had some really chill weeks when projects were steady. You usually don't have to work weekends, which is nice. For an engineering firm focusing on defense technology projects, that's not always a given.
Cons: When deadlines hit, it's tough. We often pulled long hours, sometimes until late evening. It felt like an expectation during those critical phases, which made planning personal life hard.
Advice to Management: Try to better distribute the workload during crunch times. It'd help a lot with employee burnout. More predictable hours would improve morale for your technical staff.
