Pay is solid for big corporate, but market's better
Pros: The health insurance benefits are really good, definitely a plus. There's also a decent 401k match for employees. It's a stable place to work as a Software Engineer in medical technology.
Cons: Salaries here are pretty average for the Boston, MA market, especially for tech roles. Annual bonuses aren't very competitive, so raises feel small.
Advice to Management: Seriously review the salary bands for engineering roles in the Boston, MA area. We need to be more competitive to attract and retain top talent in medical technology, especially for software developers. Boost those annual bonuses too.

Solid culture, but be ready for corporate pace
Pros: I really liked my team in the Cambridge, MA office; they were super collaborative. There's a decent focus on developing healthcare solutions, and it feels like your work matters sometimes.
Cons: It's a very large corporate environment, so decisions take ages, and there's a lot of bureaucracy. You might feel a bit like a small cog in a huge machine, which can be tough for career growth.
Advice to Management: Try to empower teams more and cut down on layers of approval. It would really help with innovation in medical technology.

Hybrid work is okay for software engineers
Pros: The benefits are solid, and the PTO is good. I liked the hybrid work model in the Atlanta office; it made doctor appointments easier. For a big corporate company in medical devices, it's pretty stable.
Cons: Workload can get pretty heavy for us software engineers, especially during product development crunch times. Some managers really push for extra hours, making it hard to maintain a good work-life balance. It's not always easy to switch off.
Advice to Management: Managers need to be more mindful about team workload and project planning. Better resource allocation would help prevent burnout for engineering roles during critical phases.
