Culture is Okay, Could Be More Modern
Pros: I appreciate the remote work setup; it's a huge plus working from home in Texas. My team itself has a decent vibe, we collaborate well on day-to-day telecom operations. They do offer solid benefits.
Cons: The overall company culture feels pretty traditional for a big corporate company. Sometimes it feels like there's a disconnect between leadership and the boots-on-the-ground folks in the telecommunications industry. Change can be slow.
Advice to Management: Try to modernize the internal communication and decision-making processes. Listen more to the frontline employees, especially as the telecommunications industry evolves so fast.

Career Growth Can Be A Real Challenge
Pros: As an Account Manager, the base salary and benefits package were solid. It's a stable company in the telecommunications industry, so job security felt pretty good.
Cons: Career growth is definitely slow here; I felt pretty stuck after a few years. There aren't many clear paths to move up unless someone leaves, especially for senior sales roles. Trying to advance from the Denver office felt tough without internal networking.
Advice to Management: Management needs to create more defined career ladders for individual contributors. It would help a lot if there were clearer paths for internal promotions, not just lateral moves.

Pay and Benefits Are Just Okay Here
Pros: The health insurance is solid, which is a big plus for a big corporate like Lumen. As a Network Engineer, I also liked the 401k match, it's pretty standard for the telecommunications industry. They offer some decent perks, too.
Cons: Salary isn't competitive with other tech companies, especially for new hires or internal promotions. It's tough to get significant raises. Remote employees often feel a bit overlooked on compensation compared to on-site in certain hubs.
Advice to Management: Review compensation structures across all levels and geographic locations. Make sure internal promotions come with meaningful salary increases to retain talent.
