Hybrid Model Okay, But Flexibility Isn't Great
Pros: The hybrid model is a plus for Software Engineer roles here. You get some WFH days which helps with the long commute to the Singapore office. It's a decent perk, honestly.
Cons: But the work flexibility isn't as good as other big tech places. The hybrid policy is pretty rigid. Don't expect to just switch to fully remote if you need to. It's tough sometimes.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more true work flexibility. The current hybrid setup feels a bit too rigid for a modern tech company. Trusting employees more with their work location could boost morale.

Leadership can be a real mixed bag here
Pros: Some team leads are genuinely supportive. They really help with career development, especially for junior product roles. My direct manager was decent, good at coaching and giving feedback.
Cons: Upper management often feels disconnected from the ground level. Decisions come from the top without much input. There's not enough transparency in this big tech company's leadership for day-to-day operations.
Advice to Management: Try to involve middle management more in big strategic decisions. Boost transparency across the board for major company changes. Listen to feedback from teams in the Singapore office.

Okay flexibility for Product Managers, but expect long days
Pros: You do get a hybrid work model here, which is decent. It's nice to have a couple of days at home when you can manage it. For some tasks, there's good autonomy.
Cons: True work-life balance for a Product Manager in the e-commerce industry is tough. You're expected to be available a lot, even with the hybrid setup. The core flexibility isn't really there.
Advice to Management: Seriously look at how 'hybrid' actually translates to flexibility. Empower teams more to manage their own time, especially for Product Manager roles in the Singapore office.
