I. BROAD FUNCTION
The position holder is responsible for supporting the maintenance and reliability operations of the site. This includes performing preventative and corrective maintenance, improving equipment performance, supporting projects, ensuring operational reliability, and participating in training and development initiatives. As a member of Mission Foods Malaysia, the position holder actively contributes to the continuous improvement and development of the equipment.
II. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensure production equipment operates at optimum mechanical condition to meet production, quality, and cost targets.
2. Improve equipment reliability, maintenance practices, and processing methods to reduce breakdowns and unplanned downtime.
3. Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and technicians to ensure equipment is safe, compliant, and reliable.
4. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) activities safely and cost-effectively.
5. Participate in continuous improvement, kaizen, and equipment modification / improvement projects.
6. Contribute mechanical expertise to developing operational standards, troubleshooting guides, and corrective actions.
7. Execute corrective and preventive maintenance in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.
8. Participate in maintenance training programs and maintain accurate maintenance and work order records.
9. Diagnose mechanical and basic electrical equipment faults and provide realistic repair time estimates to supervisors.
10. Assist in spare parts identification, requisition, and inventory planning.
11. Adhere to assigned shift schedules, on-call duties, and rest days as required.
12. Participate in safety programs, toolbox meetings, and support safety-related projects.
13. Ensure equipment, machinery, and facilities are maintained in safe and operable condition.
14. Perform basic electrical maintenance and troubleshooting (e.g. motors, sensors, switches, control panels) and support mechanical, pneumatic, utilities, and WWTP systems when required.
15. Assist in dismantling, assembling, alignment, and installation of industrial machinery and equipment.
16. Perform basic fabrication and repair works including TIG and MIG welding when required.
III. EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Electrical / Electronic / Mechatronics certification is an added advantage)
2. Minimum 1–2 years of experience preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
3. Basic welding skills (TIG and MIG) – added advantage.
4. Basic electrical knowledge (motors, starters, sensors, wiring fundamentals, troubleshooting).
5. Computer literate (basic MS Office).
6. Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
7. Proactive, hands-on, and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
8. Good communication skills at all levels.
9. Able to work under pressure and respond to breakdown situations
