The Tax Intern role will report directly to The Tax Manager with the Tax & Treasury department. This part-time position requires at least 20 hours/week and would last for 6 months with potential to extend to 12 months.
The intern for this opportunity is expected to have an interest in learning about multi-state and local taxation compliance, reporting and analysis. They will need to have a sense of ownership in projects, and an ability to perform tax-related tasks. They will be responsible for assisting with the following duties to support the tax compliance across the organization:
- Prepare/file simple sales and use tax returns
- Pull various reports for use tax analysis
- Organize and manage tax notices, draft responses, send correspondence to state/local jurisdictions
- Prepare property tax return forms using fixed asset summary schedules
- Prepare business license renewal applications
- Register for new tax accounts online, update resale and other tax certificates
Education:
- Junior/Senior in undergraduate accounting program
- Graduate school student with business program
Skills, Qualifications, Attributes:
- Flexible and able to quickly adapt to new systems and the changing needs of a growing business
- Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Proficient in Adobe and MS Office Suite, including Outlook and Excel
- Curious and passionate about the work we are doing
