We are looking for a highly qualified English as an Additional Language Teacher with international Primary education experience.
Our English teachers play a pivotal role in fostering students’ language acquisition and literacy skills. This position involves designing and delivering engaging English language lessons for Primary students (age 6 to 12) that cater to diverse learner needs whilst promoting our philosophy of education.
Teacher’s Responsibilities:
· Prepare and deliver dynamic, competence-oriented and interactive English language lessons for our Primary students from P1 to P6 that focus on language skills development, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
· Employ diverse teaching strategies such as co-planning and co-assessing for the wide ability range and level of competency in English.
· Support new English learners in their language development on an individual, class or small group basis.
· Select and adapt instructional materials, texts, and multimedia resources to suit students’ abilities, age and cultural backgrounds.
· Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that integrate English language learning with other subject areas such as Science, Portfolio work and real-world contexts.
· Give productive feedback on students’ language use to support their language development and academic growth.
· Communicate regularly with parents regarding students’ performance, achievements, and areas for improvement.
· Participate in departmental meetings, professional development workshops, and school-wide initiatives to enhance teaching practices and contribute to the school community.
· Participate in professional duties outside regular school hours, including field trips, projects and school events.
Qualifications:
· Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education or equivalent required (Master’s degree in Education preferred).
· Certification and minimum of 3 years teaching experience in EAL/ESL on Primary level is required.
· Strong knowledge of English language teaching methodologies and literacy development,
· Intermediate to advanced level of knowledge in Language Acquisition for Multilingual Learners.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
· Passion for inspiring students to become proficient communicators, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners through the learning of English language.
