About the role
What you need to know:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) in Agency involves close collaboration with different business divisions such as financial lines, casualty, marine and personal insurance and the producer who promotes AIG products suites.
The main role of a BDM is to drive and meet agency business objectives, and at the same time, help the producers meet their professional goals. Thus, it is important that the BDM understands the company sales process (product, underwriting appetite, compliance, claims, service process) and the external market environment (customer buying trends, competitor's strength and weaknesses).
- To achieve Agency and team’s production budget
- Develop and lead strategies and campaign initiatives to drive growth
- Develop regular sales activities such as joint field work with producers and monthly engagement events with targeted producers
- Collaborate with producers to identify business opportunities and build accounts pipeline through the producers clientele base
- Be proficient with sales numbers through daily production tracking and trending
- Participate in regular and ad-hoc agency events
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelors’ Degree Preferred
- Experience in General Insurance industry with good knowledge of Commercial / P&C products
- Possess BCP, PGI, ComGI & Health Insurance certification
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build credibility quickly with new agents
- High energy and driven to meet sales targets; and
- Adaptable and able to work independently and under stress
