Your new role
As a Support Worker, you will be providing outreach support to access the community, various supported living options and supporting those with complex physical, learning, or mental health needs and developmental disorders.You will be supporting individuals to lead a full and active life in line with their wishes and choices, considering their assessed needs. Get to know people as individuals, what is important to them, how they want to be supported and what they want to achieve. Have a flexible and innovative approach to facilitating and supporting the people who use our service in decision-making, promoting choice and involvement at all times.You will be working positively with others who have a role in the life of those we support, both within and outside the organisation, e.g. providing a point of contact service to the service users' circle (families and support workers).
Ensure relevant records are accurately maintained and completed in a timely manner consistent with organisational policies and procedures.
Be familiar with and work within the health and safety policy and procedures, following agreed risk assessments and risk management plans. Be responsible for complying with Health and Safety regulations and have regard for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and others.
This is a permanent position which is based on a shift rotation, but there is flexibility with hours and shift lengths. Working hours are 40-42 hours per week with overtime offered.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need to have at least 6 months experience working in care/support. You will also need the following:

• Full UK Driving License is required
• Be able to support people practically in their day-to-day lives by supporting them to access their community.
• Be able to meet the physical demands and personal care needs of the role.
• Demonstrate an ability to work according to the needs of the service and individual. This will include working on a 24-hour service.

Your new role

• You will be ensuring vulnerable adults' safety through their stay at the hostel via timed welfare checks.

Hays Education have recently seen an increased need for local Child Support Workers in SEN Schools across Northamptonshire for day-to-day and long-term supply.
Here at Hays, we work with a number of schools across Northamptonshire, covering the areas of Northampton, Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough, Rushden, Daventry, Towcester, Brackley and all the in between! This means as a Child Support Worker working through Hays you will have local work in your local area covering schools that only you want to work in.
We are currently recruiting on behalf of an alternative provision primary school that is based in central Northampton, a short walk from the bus station. The school supports students who have been excluded from mainstream education due to having additional needs that require specialist support, and/or challenging behaviour.


Your new role
We are currently recruiting for a full time Child Support Worker to join the team ASAP on a temporary - permanent basis. We are looking for exceptional people to work with exceptional pupils who have a range of additional needs

The appointed person will be expected to make a real and positive impact to the lives of children who have a range of care needs, life experiences and personalities that makes every day varied and interesting. You will be able to successfully build trusting student relationships and motivate and encourage student(s) as required by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with living and learning tasks as appropriate.


What you\'ll need to succeed
The appointed candidates will have a minimum of 1 years' experience working with children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs or Autism Spectrum Conditions.
