Support assigned attorneys by providing administrative and secretarial services

Summary
The Physical Security Team is made up of 17 PGE employees including this position, and dozens of contract employees. We are a part of a larger Enterprise Security Team and support the entire company. The team is comprised of a Senior Manager, 2 Managers, Investigators, Access Control Specialists, Operations Specialists, ISOC Technicians and Specialist, a Principal Enterprise Project Manager, and an Associate Enterprise Project Manager. It is our intent to support our internal and external customers in a way that will ensure the safety of our employees and the security of PGE.
The PGE Physical Security team protects over 4,000 PGE employees and contractors as well as safeguards and ensures access to 200+ widely geographically diverse PGE locations and assets, including line centers, substations, hydro facilities (dams), other generation facilities (wind farms, solar sites, gas pipelines), hundreds of miles of distribution/transmission lines, PGE parks, thousands of PGE vehicles and pieces of equipment, and PGE business offices/facilities.
The Senior Security Investigator gathers and distributes threat intelligence from trusted sources, assesses threats from members of the community, collaborates with local LE, responds and reacts to homeless issues affecting PGE facilities and employees, aids in employee separation/administrative leave, provides security protection assessments for PGE Executives, provides de-escalation training to field employees, and trains PGE employees in how to respond to active violent incidents appropriately.

The Weapon Detector Specialist is responsible for operating and maintaining weapon detection equipment to ensure that the

Respond to requests for Security to resolve emergency situations, investigate suspicious activity, de-escalate volatile situations and take appropriate action as directed by Security Department supervisory personnel, the Nursing Supervisor or the Administrator on-call for the hospital.
Investigate, document and resolve security related incidents. Report abuses of hospital equipment or property to the proper authority. Complete and maintain records, notes, incident reports and other documents related to Security Department activity.
Respond to all intra-facility specialized alarms and Condition Codes as may be required.
Conduct regular security checks/audits of Penn Medicine/Lancaster General Health (LGH) properties and grounds during non-business hours.
Monitor all hospital premises, grounds and parking facilities for security concerns and any potential safety hazards.
Monitor all parking areas and associated traffic flow on Lancaster General property.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:
Make appropriate recommendations to Security Supervisors and management on methods to effectively improve the Security function.
Create and participate in crime prevention initiatives in a team effort to pro-actively address security related issues or problems before they occur.
Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must complete the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety Basic Certification Program within one (1) year of employment.
Must possess a valid State driver’s license.
Must complete PPCI PATH, OCAT, and Defensive Tactics within six (6)months of employment.
Must complete Crisis Prevention Institution (CPI) Level 4 - Advanced Physical Skills training within six (6) months of employment.
Must complete basic CPR/AED certification within six (6) months of employment.
Ability to interact with a wide variety of people from many diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Ability to function effectively within a team environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, instructions, atlases, and encyclopedias.
Ability to prepare memoranda, reports and essays; using proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar.
Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis; correct pronunciation (or sign equivalent) and variation in word order; using present, perfect, and future tenses.
