Midsummer is a leading European manufacturer of in thin film solar panels. Our innovative products provide a range of rooftop solutions that are not only lightweight and flexible but also aesthetically pleasing. With a commitment to sustainability, our panels boast a 90% reduction in environmental impact compared to traditional silicon solar panels.
Our partners are mainly leading European construction, roofing and solar cell installation companies but we also sell and install solar roofs directly to end customers. Midsummer also develops and sells equipment for the production of flexible thin film solar cells to strategically selected partners and machinery for research.
The solar cells are of CIGS technology (consist of copper, indium, gallium and selenide) and are thin, light, flexible, discreet and with a minimal carbon footprint compared with other solar panels.
The solar cells are produced using the company’s own unique DUO system which has taken the position as the most widespread manufacturing tool for flexible CIGS solar cells in the world.
The company’s shares (MIDS) are traded on Nasdaq First North Growth Market.

Pros: The best part about working at Midsummer was the hands-on experience in renewable energy manufacturing. I gained valuable skills in quality control and assembly for solar panels. The team I worked with was supportive and friendly, making the day-to-day operations enjoyable. It's a good place to start if you're interested in the solar industry and want practical experience.
Cons: While the experience was good, advancement opportunities within the Modugno facility seemed slow, especially for those without specialized technical degrees. Compensation and benefits were average for the region, not standout. Sometimes, urgent project changes from management felt like they came without much forewarning, which could disrupt workflow for the production team.
Advice to Management: Consider clearer, more consistent communication channels for project updates and strategic goals. Exploring structured mentorship or cross-training programs could also boost employee engagement and perceived career growth.

How does your company celebrate Midsummer for its category management team?
At our large retail company, we have a lovely Midsummer celebration for all departments, including category management. Last year, we had a picnic with traditional foods and games, which was a great way to connect with colleagues across different roles and locations.
