Job Description
We are looking for a motivated QA Automation Engineer or Junior Java Developer who wants to grow in test automation and contribute to a strategic, high-visibility project in the banking sector. The role suits someone with a QA automation background or a developer mindset: curiosity, discipline, fast learning, and openness to using AI tools in daily work. This is a one-year strategic engagement focused on test automation, defect investigation, and continuous quality improvement, in a hybrid setup (8 office days per month, the rest remote). The role encourages responsible and effective use of AI tools for code assistance, test case generation, results analysis, documentation, and faster learning.
Core Responsibilities
- Test Design and Execution: Analyze business and technical requirements, understand expected application behavior, and create, maintain, and execute automated test cases for APIs, backend services, and applications.
- Defect Investigation: Run automated test suites, analyze execution results, investigate failed tests, and determine whether issues stem from application defects, test scripts, configuration, test data, or environments; document defects with logs, evidence, root cause analysis, and reproduction steps.
- AI-Assisted Work: Responsibly use AI tools where appropriate to support test automation, debugging, documentation, and faster analysis of technical issues.
- Testing Activities: Support functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing; maintain and improve existing automation scripts and frameworks.
- Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, Test Engineers, and DevOps teams; contribute to quality reporting and test execution monitoring; continuously improve testing and automation practices.
Qualifications And Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in software development, software testing, or quality assurance.
- Good knowledge of Java.
- Basic understanding of software testing concepts and the defect lifecycle.
- Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and web services.
- Basic SQL knowledge and ability to work with databases.
- Analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a structured approach to investigating issues.
- Experience with Git or similar version control systems.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Strong sense of ownership, curiosity, willingness to learn, and openness to using AI tools to increase productivity, test coverage, troubleshooting speed, and documentation clarity.
Preferred Skills
- Test automation tools: Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, REST Assured, JUnit, TestNG.
- Postman or API testing experience.
- Prior use of AI tools for coding, test automation, test case creation, debugging, or documentation, such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
- Experience with Jira, Zephyr, Xray, or similar tools.
- Log analysis, application troubleshooting, CI/CD concepts and tools, and a basic understanding of microservice architectures.
- Experience in banking, payments, or regulated environments.

- Spring Boot knowledge.
- Exposure to Docker or Kubernetes.
- Cloud knowledge: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Performance testing tools: JMeter or Gatling.
