Pay's Okay, Benefits Need a Boost
Pros: As an Electrical Engineer here, the base salary is pretty competitive for Houston. The 401k match is decent for a mid-sized corporate company. Solid for the power generation industry.
Cons: Health insurance premiums are really high, it eats into your take-home pay. There isn't much in terms of other perks or bonuses for onsite roles. Raises are slow, so don't expect big jumps.
Advice to Management: Look into reducing health insurance costs for employees. Consider better bonus structures, especially for those working on critical grid infrastructure projects.

Okay Pay, Benefits Could Be Better
Pros: As an Electrical Engineer here, the base salary is pretty solid for the utility sector. They do offer a 401k match, which is a nice perk. You get paid well for your engineering skills.
Cons: The health insurance plans are really expensive, and the coverage isn't great. Dental and vision benefits are just okay. For a mid-sized firm, I expected better overall benefits.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into improving the health benefits. Competitive pay attracts talent, but good benefits retain them, especially in this economy.
