Pay is okay, benefits could be better for agency life
Pros: Health insurance is pretty decent here at evoke. They do offer a 401k match, which is solid, especially for a digital marketing agency. You get some good PTO, which helps balance the ad agency environment.
Cons: Base salary for a Digital Marketing Specialist isn't super competitive, especially in our NYC office. Bonuses feel pretty arbitrary and aren't tied to clear metrics. Other perks are lacking; I've seen better at similar mid-sized agencies.
Advice to Management: Rethink the compensation structure for entry to mid-level roles. Make bonus targets clear and competitive for all, not just senior staff. Look at what other ad agencies in NYC are offering for benefits.

Leadership could be way better here.
Pros: The remote work option is a huge plus, really. It's a mid-sized digital marketing agency, so there's decent exposure to various clients. As an Account Manager, you get a lot of project ownership.
Cons: Honestly, leadership is pretty inconsistent. There's not much strategic vision for our client services work. It makes navigating campaigns tough for us Account Managers.
Advice to Management: Focus on developing a clearer long-term strategy. Give managers tools to lead, not just react. Improve communication flow from the top down.

Good Company Culture, Growth Needs Help
Pros: The team at evoke is genuinely friendly and supportive. It makes the hybrid work environment in the New York office feel pretty collaborative. As a mid-sized marketing agency, they do a decent job of fostering a positive vibe among co-workers.
Cons: For a Marketing Specialist, career growth isn't very clear or fast. It feels like you hit a ceiling quickly, which can be frustrating. Compensation for digital marketing roles could also use an upgrade to match the current market.
Advice to Management: Create clearer pathways for career advancement, especially for individual contributor roles like Marketing Specialist. Invest more in competitive compensation for our digital marketing talent.

Okay Pay, Benefits Could Be Better
Pros: The base salary for an Account Manager is quite competitive in NYC. I even got a good raise after my first year. The 401k match is also a solid perk here at this mid-sized agency.
Cons: Health insurance plans are just decent, coverage felt a bit lacking compared to peers. PTO days felt kind of limited. Bonuses weren't always super transparent, especially in healthcare advertising.
Advice to Management: Take a look at enhancing the health insurance offerings. Also, making the bonus structure more clear and consistent would be a huge plus for employees.

Okay for flexibility, but could be better
Pros: You get some WFH days with their hybrid model, which is nice. As a Digital Marketing Specialist, I appreciated not having to commute every single day to the New York City office.
Cons: True remote work isn't really an option for most. The hybrid model felt more like an expectation than true flexibility, especially when client deliverables ramped up. There's not much wiggle room if you need more than the standard WFH setup.
Advice to Management: Consider allowing more fully remote options for roles that can support it. Be clearer about expectations around hybrid schedules during busy periods.

Okay flexibility, but needs more trust
Pros: The hybrid arrangement for digital marketing roles was a plus. It allowed some work-from-home days. This helped avoid the daily San Francisco commute a few times a week.
Cons: The in-office days felt pretty rigid, even when there wasn't a strong reason to be there. For a mid-sized ad agency, the work flexibility could be better. Sometimes WFH requests felt scrutinized.
Advice to Management: Trust employees more with remote work decisions, especially for roles like Marketing Specialist. It would really boost morale and productivity.

Decent place for digital marketing, but career growth is slow
Pros: Good exposure to big brand clients, especially in the healthcare sector. I definitely sharpened my skills in paid media and content strategy. There's always new marketing campaigns to work on.
Cons: Career progression for a Senior Digital Strategist felt really slow. There's not a clear path for advancement, even if you perform well. It's hard to move up without someone leaving, which can be frustrating.
Advice to Management: Create clearer promotion criteria for digital marketing roles. Invest more in professional development programs to help employees see a future here.

Okay Flexibility, But Needs More Trust
Pros: I liked the hybrid model, going into the New York City office three days a week. It's helpful for scheduling personal appointments when you can work from home on certain days. As an Account Manager, you get some freedom to manage your schedule around client calls, which is a big plus in digital marketing.
Cons: While there's a hybrid option, it often feels like mandatory onsite requirements rather than true work flexibility. Management can be a bit rigid with WFH days, especially if you're not a senior leader. It's a mid-sized agency, so there's still a corporate feel to how flexibility is managed.
Advice to Management: Trust your employees more with remote work. If the work gets done, where it's done shouldn't be the main concern. Truly embrace the hybrid model, don't just enforce it with strict rules for being in the corporate office.

Decent flexibility for remote roles
Pros: As a Marketing Specialist, the remote work option is a huge plus. It's great to have WFH flexibility without a strict in-office requirement. This helps with personal appointments.
Cons: Sometimes the flexible hours mean meetings are scheduled outside core business hours for different time zones. It's a bit of a challenge for true work-life balance in a mid-sized agency setting. You really need to manage your own calendar aggressively.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize core meeting hours to better respect the WFH flexibility and different time zones.

Pay's Okay, Benefits Are Decent Here
Pros: The base salary for a Marketing Coordinator here was pretty solid for a mid-sized agency, especially when starting out in digital advertising. I liked the hybrid work schedule; it gave good flexibility. The 401k match was also a decent perk.
Cons: The health insurance plans felt a bit pricey, and the PTO wasn't as generous as other healthcare marketing companies. There isn't much room for huge bonuses in this role, which can be tough.
Advice to Management: Review the health benefit costs and consider offering more competitive PTO for all roles, especially for agency roles like mine.
