Pros: I've been working remote from Toronto, and that's been a huge benefit. As a Software Engineer, being able to WFH consistently at this tech startup is great. It definitely helps with my daily commute and personal time.
Cons: The 'flexibility' mostly means being remote, not necessarily choosing your hours. There are still a lot of required daily stand-ups and team meetings that lock you into core working times. It feels more like a 9-5 remote setup, which isn't ideal for true schedule flexibility.
Advice to Management: Think about optimizing meeting schedules, especially for engineering teams, to allow more async work. That would really improve true work flexibility beyond just being remote.
