Pay is fine, benefits package is solid
Pros: As a remote Software Engineer here, the benefits are pretty comprehensive. You get decent health insurance and a solid 401k match, which is what you'd expect from a big tech company like Dell. The PTO is also pretty generous after you've been here a bit.
Cons: Honestly, the base salary for some roles, especially in enterprise IT, feels a bit low for the industry standard. Raises aren't super impressive either, and the bonus structure can feel a little arbitrary sometimes. It's tough to get significant bumps.
Advice to Management: Focus on increasing base pay competitiveness, especially for remote roles and technical positions. Clearer paths for salary progression would really help retain talent in the enterprise IT space.

Solid pay for big tech, but perks are just okay.
Pros: As a Software Engineer, the base pay is pretty competitive for a big tech company. The 401k match is decent, and benefits like health insurance are solid. I've also appreciated the hybrid work flexibility.
Cons: Raises can be really slow, so don't expect big jumps in compensation yearly. Bonuses aren't huge; sometimes they feel more like a formality than a true incentive. Some of the perks you see at other Austin tech companies just aren't here.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into more frequent and substantial raises to retain talent. Also, consider sprucing up the fringe benefits to compete with other big tech players.

Okay Balance for a Big Tech Company
Pros: I've gotta say, the hybrid work model here is pretty decent. As a Software Engineer, I can work from home a few days a week, which really helps with personal stuff. They don't micromanage your time too much, which is nice.
Cons: It's not always easy though. Sometimes, especially with big project deadlines, you'll put in more than 40 hours. The pressure in this corporate environment can be tough, and I've seen some late nights when launching new enterprise solutions.
Advice to Management: Management should really try to standardize workload expectations across teams. It feels like some teams are constantly slammed while others are fine. Better resource allocation would help with burnout.
