Leadership needs better communication, some good ideas
Pros: I've learned a ton working on cutting-edge manufacturing technology. As a Software Engineer, the projects are complex and challenging. You get a lot of exposure in a big corporate setting.
Cons: Leadership often feels disconnected from the ground level in the Penang office. Decisions can seem top-down without much explanation. Sometimes you don't know the 'why' behind big changes. This impacts morale in our teams.
Advice to Management: Work on more transparent communication from top leadership down to individual contributors. Explaining the reasoning for strategic shifts would really help engagement. Consider feedback from the Penang office more seriously.

Career Growth Can Be Really Slow
Pros: It's a solid multinational company, so job security in automotive manufacturing feels decent. You get to work with some good tech and experienced colleagues. The benefits package is okay for the Malaysian market.
Cons: Career growth is super slow, especially as a Junior Engineer in the Penang office. Internal promotions aren't very transparent. It's tough to move up without literally waiting years or looking externally.
Advice to Management: Please improve transparency around career pathing and promotion criteria for all technical roles. Invest more in leadership development for middle managers to foster growth.

Good stability, but culture needs a refresh
Pros: It's a really stable big corporate employer. You get solid benefits and job security in the manufacturing sector. As a Software Engineer, I felt valued by my immediate team.
Cons: The culture can feel very slow. There's a lot of bureaucracy, which makes innovation tough. It's often hard to get new ideas approved for automotive components.
Advice to Management: Try to streamline approval processes. Empower teams to innovate more freely. This would really help with employee morale.
