Pay is okay, but raises are small
Pros: They do offer decent medical benefits and the annual leave package is pretty standard. As a Project Coordinator, my base salary was competitive when I started in the Kuala Lumpur office. The annual bonus usually gets paid out, which is good.
Cons: Annual raises are often quite small; they don't really keep up with inflation or market rates in the construction industry. It's tough to see significant salary growth here for long-term employees. There aren't many extra perks or unique benefits beyond the basics.
Advice to Management: Consider reviewing the salary increase policies to better retain experienced staff. Keeping compensation competitive is really key for the construction industry.

Decent Team, High Pressure in Construction
Pros: The team here is really supportive, especially when you're working on complex construction projects. We help each other out daily. The Kuala Lumpur office environment is pretty chill among colleagues.
Cons: Company culture leans heavily on long hours; it's just how the construction industry is. Work-life balance for a Project Coordinator can be tough, always chasing deadlines. There's not much recognition for extra effort beyond just getting the job done.
Advice to Management: Try to acknowledge team efforts more. Burnout is real, even in this industry. A little appreciation goes a long way.

Leadership needs a stronger vision here
Pros: The team spirit among Project Coordinators and site staff is solid. You get decent exposure to big construction projects in Kuala Lumpur. It's a good place to learn the ropes for junior engineers.
Cons: Leadership can be really detached from daily operations. They don't communicate project changes well, which makes things tough for onsite teams. It feels like a 'my way or the highway' approach sometimes.
Advice to Management: Senior leadership should genuinely engage with their Project Coordinators and site teams. Listen to feedback from the ground. Better transparency on company direction would improve morale hugely.
