Pros: I really like the work-from-home policy here; as a Software Engineer, it's pretty solid. I can mostly set my own schedule, which is great for work-life balance. Being able to work remote from the San Francisco Bay Area helps a lot.
Cons: However, not all teams get the same level of flexibility, which can be tough. Sometimes it's hard to coordinate meetings with everyone when schedules are so varied. You don't always get that same hybrid model freedom across the board.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize the work flexibility policies more across all departments, not just for engineers. Clearer expectations for hybrid models would really help teams align better.

Pros: The remote work policy is great; I can WFH from Portland, OR, which is huge for my schedule. As a Software Engineer, I generally control my daily tasks and hours, which isn't always true at a mid-sized tech company.
Cons: Team collaboration can be tricky with different time zones; some mandatory meetings are outside my ideal block. There's not much flexibility on project timelines, which can create crunch periods for delivering new features for the e-reading platform.
Advice to Management: Try to optimize meeting times across different time zones to be more inclusive. Look for ways to build more buffer into project timelines to reduce crunch.
