We are seeking an experienced Mainframe CICS System Programmer to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting CICS (Customer Information Control System) environments on IBM mainframes, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain CICS regions and related components.
- Provide technical support for CICS in a z/OS mainframe environment.
- Monitor, tune, and troubleshoot CICS systems to ensure performance and availability.
- Implement and maintain security standards for CICS environments.
- Perform capacity planning, system health checks, and disaster recovery support.
- Collaborate with application development teams to support CICS-based applications.
- Analyze and resolve complex system issues and provide root cause analysis.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, standards, and procedures.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation as needed.
Requirements
- Strong experience as a Mainframe CICS System Programmer.
- Proficiency in CICS, z/OS, JCL, VSAM, RACF, and DB2
- Expertise in CICS installation, customization, and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of CICS internals, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with tools such as CEMT, CEDA, and CICS Explorer.
- Experience with problem determination tools (e. g., Abend-AID, Fault Analyzer, OMEGAMON).
- Knowledge of mainframe security (RACF, ACF2 or Top Secret).
- Ability to work in a high-availability environment with mission-critical applications.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with CICS Web Services, MQ, and IMS integration.
- Knowledge of automation tools (REXX, CLIST, or other scripting).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices in a mainframe environment.
- Previous experience in banking, insurance, or financial services.
